Simple

White is often a complimentary colour to outfits, rooms and accessories. It isn’t a particularly bold colour and as such, it’s generally considered as a simple and safe options.

Freshness

So why does the colour white represent freshness exactly?! Well it’s because the colour white is associate with a blank canvas, meaning fresh and new. That’s why fresh white sheets are a thing!

Light

What’s interesting about this trait is that whilst white if often associated with light, the colour white is actually made up of all colours in the spectrum, but is the only one which is considered to represent light!

Purity

You may have guessed this characteristic, but we’re not sure if you would have guessed why – we most certainly didn’t! The colour white is associated with purity, as from hundreds of years (at least in the Western world) it was the colour worn by new brides on their wedding day, who because of the thinking at the time were generally mostly virgins, which was considered as a sign of purity at that point in time. What’s interesting is that whilst thinking has moved on, the associations our brains have with certain colours hasn’t!
